Meet the coaches.
Jenny Phillips, Owner
Jenny Phillips enters her 20th year of coaching and opened Elite Austin Volleyball in June 2024. She has coached collegiately at the University of Louisiana, University of Houston, Houston Baptist University, and University of Virginia. She has coached at the club level for Austin Skyline Juniors, Austin Junior Volleyball, and Austin Metro Volleyball. Prior to opening Elite Austin Volleyball in 2024, she was most recently the Assistant Director and Recruiting Coordinator for Austin Skyline Juniors for seven years.
Phillips was a four-year letter winner at the University of Texas and was instrumental in the team's success. She helped her team to three NCAA Tournament appearances, including the Sweet 16 in 2004 and Elite Eight in 2006. She was named Most Valuable Player in 2006 and was a Big 12 Academic All-Conference and Commissioner's Honor Roll selection throughout her career. She was invited to try out and made the United States Volleyball National Team A2 Roster prior to her senior season at Texas. Phillips graduated from Texas in 2007 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Sport Management.
She resides in Kyle, Texas with her husband, Brian, and three year old daughter, Joplin. She loves spending time with her family and friends, cooking, traveling, and finding new restaurants.
Selena Cooper, Coach
Selena Cooper currently enters her 4th year at Concordia University Texas, pursuing her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology. Over her collegiate career, Cooper has led her team in assists all three years, has been ranked among the top 4 setters in her conference in assists per set, granted various leadership and captain roles within her career, was awarded Academic All-Conference, and is a part of her university's Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Cooper played at Austin Skyline Juniors, and during her time there she was granted the leadership award through the club’s program’s leadership council. She attended Round Rock High School, and helped lead her team to 3 undefeated district titles.
She resides in Round Rock, Texas, and loves spending time with family and friends, hiking, and finding new coffee shops.
